Justin Morgan was the owner of "Figure" the original Morgan Horse. Justin was sure of this horse and showed him off to everyone. Figure could outwalk, outtrot, outrun and outpull other horses and he became legendary. Figure sired many horses under Justin Morgan and even after Morgan passed away.  Figure was kicked by another horse the owner failed to get him the right care and Figure passed away in 1821. From Figure's sires came the incredible Morgan Horse. Morgan Horses are said to be very intelligent and intuitive and will pick their owners by saying basically, "I want You!" One of my favorite shows is "Justin Morgan Had a Horse" the uncut version, put out by Disney. I wish I could still get it just to watch it again and again.
